Today is the real Veterans' Day, or at least the day designated for honoring our vets when I was a kid. One can't tell anymore when to celebrate the day. I thought City offices would be closed only to find the DMV in White Bear Lake open. Banks are closed but many of them close on Saturday anyway. Will they be closed on Monday, too, because that's the new legal day for observance? I'm confused.
I guess I shouldn't fret. I'll put my flag out both days and appreciate the past and present soldiers and their families for the sacrifices they have made to protect my freedom 365 days out of the year!
