Yep, there's snow out there. This is the front steps after being shoveled 4 times. Yep, looks like snow to me!
My client decided to drive for our St. Paul house tour today because he had a Jeep which was higher off the road. I sat in the back holding tightly to the seat as we slipped and slid our way to the two houses. I thanked my lucky stars there were only two showings as we skidded to a stop on an unsalted corner. I thanked my lucky stars my client was driving and not me! It's hard enough to multi-task when driving and the weather's good, but navigating the map from the back seat is much easier.
We were a motley crew. Shovel in the cargo hold, snowsuits, jeans, chopper mittens, warm hunting boots. No one would recognize us as executive and REALTOR on a house tour.
A fellow agent held an open house. I asked how it went. "I spent most of the time shoveling snow."
I thought of the Tudor home in Minneapolis that I showed in a legitimate blizzard (Today's snow was just a little inconvenience!). My clients were able to buy the house because no one else would go out in the horrible snow. That time, too, I showed in hunting boots and jeans with a shovel in the back. I literally parked the Suburban in the middle of the street and we walked to the house.
So, is the mailman the only one who does his job despite rain, sleet, or snow? I don't think so. The real estate agents were out working today . . . on a Sunday in St. Paul's stormy weather.
