I'm having trouble with both my internet service and cable television which are provided by the same company and the same wire outside my house. I've had repeated service calls, but when the technicians arrive, it doesn't misbehave. Part of the reason for that is that I live on a hill and the winds pick up at night causing the wire to wave which then causes the t.v. to digitize and the internet to lose connection/reconnect/lose connection/reconnect . . . ! During the day, the breezes are usually calmer and the service is better. Eighteen months of this frustration led me to hire a private technician who came at 9:00 PM when the winds were blowing. He "pinged" my service (don't ask!) and called the provider. Amazingly, their connection showed the SAME PROBLEM! The technician arrived on a calm day 4 days later and true to form, the service worked like a charm. He, like his predecessors, can't fix it until it's broke! Arrrrgh!
I can't wait until the spring storms and winds occur in the daytime and I can actually prove to the repair people that the problem is not in my head!
