One of the hardest things for the veterans of my generation who served in Viet Nam was the lack of support our country showed them during the war and when they returned stateside. Many had experienced atrocities beyond our comprehension, went as late teens and came home as aged men to a country that spat on them and taunted them in the streets. This mistake does not have to be repeated.
Whether you're a Republican or a Democrat, a hawk or a dove, support for an individual soldier is different than support for a war. The website "Let's Say Thanks" has provided an easy venue to make one soldier know someone is thinking of him/her. Thank you card pictures have been created by children and teens from which to choose. A variety of personalized greetings are supplied as well. The Xerox Corporation prints the cards and they are sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq. It only takes a couple seconds to encourage a soldier who tonight might be feeling very alone.

Thank You Bonnie for thinking of our men and women! My brother and his family were set to leave for a 3 year tour to England on Aug 10th the same day as the attempted attacks on the airlines. Thank goodness that they didn't have to go at the last minute, over the last 17 years my brother has seen many friends deployed overseas and this will really mean alot to our soldiers! I have passed your blog on to 25 of my friends and family and to my 3 soldiers that I have personally adopted. Thank You again this really hit home for me and my family. God Bless you and all who read this.
