The picture is of our latest version of electronic lockboxes. They really are an asset to seller safety as there is no lockbox code to share with unauthorized people. The keybox attached to the house doorknob records when an authorized person uses their keypad to access the box. It is so secure that when an agent conducting an open house has placed the ads, put out the street signs, hung the flags, and gone to the door to open it only to discover his/her keypad is in the docking station at the office, the agent has no recourse but to reverse his/her steps and return to the office to get the keypad to gain access. There's no ability to call the office and "get the code". It's a secure system even for the agent who mistakenly forgot the most important tool for his/her open house! :^(
Randall, That's certainly true. I love the info, convenience, and safety of the new boxes. The one small catch to the new system is the keypad having to be cradled every night. Each agent is acclimating and developing new routines to prevent forgetting the keypad like the scenario above. I can't imagine the embarrassment of doing showings and having forgotten one's keypad!

There are pros and cons to the new GE lockbox systems. For most agents they are a great benefit and the information that they feed back to the listing agent can be invaluable to help guide clients through the sales process.
