So you've watched the infomercials at night and want to be a "rehabber" when you grow up? (Rehabber: person who buys homes in disrepair and fixes them up for resale.) Click on these pictures of a St. Paul home to enlarge them and see if you've really got the stomach for it! My estimate is we'll need 2 forty yard roll off boxes just to empty the personal possessions and then we'll still have to remove all the carpet. Not a task for the faint hearted! The novice wonders how one can tell if the house is in good enough shape to buy it when one can't see beyond the debris!
This one is an estate and never went on the market. A foreclosure would have been "swamped out" (personal belongings removed but not cleaned). Some of this stuff will probably go to charity as beds and some furniture appear to be outdated but in usable condition. Sometimes sorting takes longer than just pitching everything.

I handle a few foreclosures here in Connecticut. I always find myself wondering what the story is behind all the junk.
