I think the USPS came up with the "forever stamp" in the hopes that many would buy them and not use them so they could "save" money in the future. In the meantime, the USPS is getting to use the funds from the sale of them without having to perform the work created by the use of them. How ingenious! By the time some people get around to using them, the USPS has made a lot of interest off the money. At least that's our thinking.
