It's not surprising that the Bremer Banks Diggin' Dino is named after the Bremer founder Otto Bremer who immigrated to St. Paul in 1886 and became a leading banker, entrepreneur, political advisor, and civic leader. The dino Otto is found on Snelling Avenue at Shields by the Bremer Midway parking lot. Staff of the Bremer Midway branch created Otto. It's only been recently that Bremer Banks have started appearing in the metro as previously the Bremer Banks were mostly located in small outstate towns.
The Bremer Foundation is funded by a trust established by Otto Bremer. Their mission statement reads: "In accordance with the principles set forth by Otto Bremer in his trust agreement, the mission of the Otto Bremer Foundation is to assist people in achieving full economic, civic, and social participation in and for the betterment of their communities. Beneficiaries must reside in the states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, and North Dakota, with preference give to those in regions served by Bremer banks."
Otto, the dino's namesake, was indeed a generous man of great forethought! Many communities in our three state area are grateful for funds generated by the Bremer Foundation.
