This St. Paul house seemed very normal from the outside. The exterior was a traditional two story with straight lines in good repair and the expectation for the interior was more of the same. The hope was that some of the original character would still be in place. The front entry opened to a granite walkway directly to the center stair. The first impression was shock. There were mirrors on the stair kick plates! Mirrors! What on earth? The tour began. The house was vacant so it was hard to imagine how this hard surfaced glass, mirror, and tiled upgrade could have been softened into a home. What would a stager do with this?
My clients shook their heads in wonder. Was this home hiding a house of ill repute? or was it the creation of a person working in the tile, glass, and marble business? Someone who loved mirrors? My imagination went to hours of cleaning fingerprints from every surface in the house. Surprisingly, there were no mirrors on the furnace. Amazing, since every other surface in the house was covered with some form of glass!
